This remedy
was given to me by a nutritionist, and it's worked every time for
me, and countless others: Drink a few ounces of apple juice. It restores
the body to it's proper Ph level, hence removing the hiccups. It's
fast, easy, and delicious too. Apple juice consumed after a meal will
prevent hiccups from forming, as well.

When the "Distraction Methods" don't work for me I do something I
call "borrowed breathing". It would have to be a really close friend
or a signifigant other from whom you "borrow breath" from. Ok, here's
what you do. It would be a great idea to be in a sitting position,
or preferably both of you lay on your sides facing eachother on the
floor or a bed. First decide which of the 2 of you is going to breathe
in, while the other breathes out. Make a seal around eachother's mouth
with your mouth (like a sealed airtight kiss), don't move but once
you seal your mouths together, breathe in, while the other person
breathes out. Do not pause, continue breathing eachother's "recycled
air" until you are lightheaded and a little dizzy. But, your hiccups
are gone aren't they? It's actually because your body stops all unneccesary
involentary movements (such as a diapragm jumping, "hiccups")when
it goes into "survival mode". The reason your body reacts this way
to the "borrowed breathing" is because you are not breathing enough
air, and it fools your body into thinking that you are dying because
of that very lack of oxygen...interesting.

I
watched a documentry last night telling us about cures for hiccups.
A woman went into the ER after having hiccups for a week. They tried
every remedy they could think of with nothing working. The very
last remedy they tried they took two fingers on each hand and pressed
firmly just above the eyes. He kept pressure there and straight
away the hiccups had gone. I haven't tried this cure but it's worth
a try if all else fails.

Take a mouthful
of water but do not swallow it all. Take very very tiny swallows
of the water. As small as possible. This has always worked for me,
every single time.
