Chamomile
Hair Shampoo
For this shampoo
you can use 4 chamomile tea bags or a handful of fresh chamomile
flowers or both. If using tea bags let them steep in a cup
and a half of hot water for 15 minutes. Remove the tea bags
and add to the liquid 4 tablespoons of pure soap flakes. Leave
it till the soap softens then add 1 and a half tablespoons
of glycerin. Mix well and pour into an attractive bottle.
Store this shampoo in a dark place.
Avocado
Deep Conditioning Treatment
With a hand or
electric beater, beat together 1 jar of real mayonnaise and
half an avocado. It will turn a mint green color. Apply this
cream into the hair all the way down to the tips. Put a shower
cap on for 20 minutes then rinse out. For a deeper cleanse
wrap the hair in a hot damp towel after applying the cream.
Tropical
Conditioner
Mix together
a whole avocado and enough coconut milk to make the consistency
of shampoo. Make sure the avocado is mashed well so there
are no lumpy bits. Apply this to your hair and leave on for
10 minutes before rinsing out.
Dandruff
Removal Treatment
This treatment
should be used twice a week. Mix together half a cup of water
with half a cup of white vinegar. Massage into the scalp before
shampooing your hair.
Natural
Hair Spray
Chop either a
whole lemon or a whole orange and add it to 2 cups of water.
Boil the water until it reduces to half the amount. Wait until
the mixture cools then strain it. Place the liquid into a
spray bottle and keep it in the fridge. You can add 1 ounce
of rubbing alcohol which will let you keep it for 2 weeks
without having to be refrigerated.
Natural
Hair Gel
Dissolve 1 teaspoon
of unflavored gelatin in a cup of warm water. Store it in
an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Natural
Blonde Hair Dye
Mix a tablespoon
of lemon juice in a gallon of warm water. Pour this through
your hair 15 times, rerinsing with the same liquid. On the
15th rinse leave on your hair for 20 minutes before rinsing
with normal water. Repeat this for a few weeks before you
notice a change.
Cover
up Gray's
Bring to the
simmer half cup of dried sage and 2 cups of water. Let it
simmer for 30 minutes. Take it off the heat and let it stand
for at least 3 hours. Add the liquid to your hair and leave
it on until dry. Then rinse and dry your hair as normal. You
should repeat this each week until you get the desired shade.
Then repeat if monthly to maintain the color.
Natural
Hair Rinse
Mix together
1 ounce of apple cider vinegar and 1 quart of distilled water.
Use this as a hair rinse to get rid of buildup and soften
the hair.
Anti
Frizz
Mix half a cup
of conditioner, quarter of a cup of honey and 1 tablespoon
of almond oil. Massage mixture into damp hair and leave on
for 20 minutes before rinsing out.
