Remedies for Nausea
1.
Rice Water - Using rice water is a good way
of treating the symptoms of nausea. To make, add half a cup
of rice and a cup of water to a saucepan and boil for 20 minutes.
Drain the water from the pan. Sip the liquid until symptoms are
gone.
2. Ginger
- Ginger is a well known remedy for nausea which offers immediate
relief. Make ginger tea by boiling fresh ginger in some water. Alternatively
you can put a couple of slices of fresh ginger into your tea before
you drink it. You can also just eat the ginger raw...it's a bit
pungent but it helps the nausea instantly.
3. Root Beer
- Get yourself a can of root beer. Ordinary or diet it doesn't matter.
Add a pinch of salt to take the fizz out. Sip on this slowly. It
will help with the nausea almost instantly. This also works with
plain lemonade, coca cola or 7 Up. Remember to drink it as slowly
as possible.
4. Beef Bouillon
Cubes - Fill a saucepan about half way and bring it to the boil.
Add 1 beef bouillon cube. When the beef bouillon cube is completely
dissolved drink the lot. This helps instantly.
5. White Wine
Vinegar - Stir 1 tbsp. of white wine vinegar into a glass of
water and sip slowly. This remedy works better than the ginger
remedy above.
6.
Coffee - Drink a cup of coffee with no
sugar or cream. When ever my stomach is bothering me this always
seems to do the trick. My Friend's mom told me to do this when I
got sick one day, and its been working ever since. The coffee can
be regular or decaf it doesn't matter.
7. Peppermint
Tea - Brew a peppermint tea bag in hot water for 5 -10 minutes.
The tea must be strong. Drink the tea and feel the results within
a 1/2 hour. Works best on an empty stomach.
8. Peppermint
Oil - Put one or two drops of peppermint oil on your finger
and rub it on your gums and on your tongue until it is gone off
of your finger. It helps almost instantly! If you don't have the
peppermint oil at home, and you need relief fast, try a piece of
peppermint candy. It works well too.
9. Corn Syrup
- When you are feeling a little nauseous use my great grandmother's
remedy. Take two tablespoons of corn syrup and that sick
feeling will disappear! I've tried it with white and dark and even
used pancake syrup. It even works for morning sickness.
10. Sports
Drinks - You need to restore your electrolyte balance (levels
of sugar and sodium in the blood), and you need to replace lost
protein. Drink a sports drink, like Gatorade or Powerade or similar
(Pedialyte, Maxim Electrolyte), to restore your electrolyte balance.
If the flavor is too strong to stomach, cut it down with water.
You can even freeze it and make popsicle out of it to suck on when
you're nauseated.
