What is Tendonitis and Remedies for Tendonitis

What is Tendonitis? Tendonitis is caused by irritation of the tendon and can be very painful. The body has different area's where tendon's are found, including the ankle, achilles tendon, leg, elbow, biceps, wrist, knee, shoulder and hip and it's usually in one of these area's where people experience tendonitis. If you are suffering from Tendonitis in any part of the body we recommend trying the Tendonitis remedies below. These remedies can help relieve your symptoms caused by Tendonitis or tendon irritation.

Remedies for Tendonitis

Irritated Tendon

1. Cold packs - At the first sign of Tendonitis using a cold pack on the painful area could releave the symptoms caused by tendonitis. Using a cold pack or a frozen jel pack will supply a decent amount of cold to the inflamed tendon. If you don't have an ice pack or frozen jel pack a bag of frozen peas will work just as well. A 20 minute cold treatment will help releave the symptoms at first sign of tendonitis.

2. Heat pack - Using a heat pack will help for ongoing Tendonitis. For those who have been suffering with Tendonitis for some time, apply a heat pack to the area for at least half an hour. Applying a heat pack will relax the muscels around the joint giving you some relief.

3.Chickweed - Chickweed will help with inflammed tissue so is very a very good herb for Tendonitis. Chickweed has a good amount of nutrients and vitamins that will help reduce the swelling around the tendon.

4. Light exercise - Light exercise and stretching in the morning when you first wake is important and an effective way of curing tendonitis but you should not do extensive physical exercise. Gentle stretching of the area is enough to loosen the joints before your normal daily routines.

5. MSM - MSM also known as Methyl Sulfonyl Methane is a natural suppliment that is proven to heal tissue at a cellular level. MSM is a natural alternative that helps enhance tissue pliability and also encourages the repair of damaged skin. If you suffer from Tindonitis regardless of severity I recommend purchasing MSM capsules.
